Lee and Steve had been good friends for many years before they both started their degree course. On day one of the programme they were advised to set up a filing system to store information relating to the various modules they would be studying, their placement work and so on. They both thought this was a good idea. Lee went home that evening and made a start on developing a filing system. Steve said he would leave it until the weekend and then make a start. By halfway through the first semester, Lee was pleased that his system was working really well and, when it came to preparing for his assignment, he knew exactly where to find the information he needed. Steve, by contrast, never did get round to setting up that filing system and had various miscellaneous piles of paper dotted around his house and any attempt to find the information he needed was likely to be a difficult, time-consuming and frustrating experience. So, while Lee was feeling reasonably confident about tackling the assignment, Steve was feeling the pressure quite a lot and was very much regretting not having set up a system in the first place.
