Part 1

Just to reiterate – please approach this assessment as a report you are asked to complete on planning of a fictitious project (or a real one if you have ever been involved in such a project). Make sure to create screenshots of diagrams generated as part of your analysis, put them into this report and provide each of them with a brief explanatory note. This way, you will make the presentation of your analysis much more effective and avoid issues preventing upload of some file types which many of you have reported about.

NB: Feel free to upload MS project and/or other files too, but these should accompany rather than substitute your main report.

In the process of assignment preparation, be guided by the activities you have completed so far.

Please also note: the project you should analyse is the one stated on the assignment brief – a bathroom renovation case study. However, you are free to choose any specific activities, resources, schedules etc., as most suited for your particular “bathroom of dream”. The assignment does not impose any such details on you, so that you are able to propose those that would be the best fit for your case. As such, you are given full flexibility to assign specific values to any project activities/parameters the way you feel most appropriate. The key is to make sure the project is meaningful and realistic.

Part 2

You should again extensively underpin your discussion with references to the relevant academic and professional literature. This is because at Masters level, you are really expected to demonstrate reading beyond the module’s learning material. For a good mark, aim at 10+ citations per assessment. Also, put together a reference list at the end of your document.

Furthermore, please be critical with your statements, arguments and outcomes of your project analysis. To show critical evaluation, aim to do the following:

– Compare and contrast the opinions of the different authors.

– Acknowledge limitations of alternative frameworks or models (e.g., CPA vs. PERT – and not only PERT but also vs. other approaches to evaluating the project activities). Please note: discussing CPA in isolation, i.e., without comparison with other alternatives serving the same goal, would negatively affect the outcomes of your critical analysis.

– Justify what you think are the most relevant and optimal approaches to managing projects not in general but specifically in your workplace – explain why these are superior to the alternatives in your business environment.

Also, please do not repeat one of the typical mistakes the students frequently make by including too many direct quotes in your report – avoid that by all means. The direct quotes unnecessarily increase the Turnitin score and make your report look like semi-plagiarized. You may include 2-3 brief quotes but no more. In general, it is much better if you paraphrase the secondary sources in your own words, and cite them properly.

And if you do include some direct quotes, make sure that they are highlighted in the text with speech marks, and followed by the page numbers alongside author and year (with full reference list at end of work). This is crucial for proper acknowledgement of your referencing in accordance with the Harvard convention.

Good evening, first of all, I would like to thank you for the amazing work you already prepared. However, I have prepared an excel sheet with WPS, Human resources and can’t chart and CPM. I thought it is better to mix my work with yours

1- (it will be great idea, please find a way to mix mine and yours in terms of charts)

So, for part 1, I want a Gantt chart instead of CPM and WPS and Human resource histogram, and use CPM for part 2

2- for human resources, please indicate what position is required for each activity instead of just numbers

3- make sure to add a contingency plan (risks and how to overcome, but first identify what are the risks that might prevent form executing the project and deliver on time and quality)

4- for part 2, please make sure to cite all references used in the context and they should be min of 13
