For this assignment you will make a 12 page Health Draft not including cover and references that will include 2 regulations- do not pick any others from these 2 provided

#1 Title 22– State the 2 regulations for the following and what Title 22 states about that regulation (cite Title 22 and explain a bit)-

1. Daily Inspection for Illness 101226.1 (Article 6 Cont. Page 125)

2. Isolation of Illness 101226:2: (Article 6 Cont. Page 126)

#3 Observation– Provide a descriptive observation of the center on the regulation you picked and if the center implementation or lack of implementation of the regulation. You can only use the VVC Child care center provided no other center can be used.

Please follow the following format below.

Here are some Key Items

Follow this format! ONLY DO ONE REGULATION AT A TIME THEN START THE NEXT REGULATION. DO NOT MIX THE REGULATIONS TOGETHER. USE THE HEADERS TO HELP STAY ON TRACK.

1. Title 22– State the regulation and what Title 22 states about that regulation (cite Title 22 and explain a bit)-

Remember do not cite back to back as a list but need to slightly explain your quote/cite.

Remember to cite the Regulation as:

In text citation (paraphrasing):

Sample for Daily Inspection for Illness 101226.1

The center should not accept children in their care with obvious symptoms of illness (e.g., fever or vomiting) (Title 22 C.C.R § 12: Article 6 Regulation 101226.1, 2017).

In text citation as a direct quote:

“The licensee is responsible for ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness including, but not limited to, fever or vomiting, are not accepted” (Title 22 C.C.R § 12: Article 6 Regulation 101226.1, 2017, p. #).

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS MUST CITE THROUGHOUT THIS SECTION IN APA, ONLY TITLE 22 MATERIAL ON THAT SPECIFIC REGULATION, AND MUST EXPLAIN THE SPECIFIC CITE.

This should be at least a paragraph per regulaion.

2. Textbook– State what the textbook states about that regulation (cite the textbook and explain)- sometimes the text and Title 22 do not state the same thing!

Should be at least a paragraph per regulation

Remember to not cite/quote back to back as a list but need to explain the quotes/cites in your own words.

PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS MUST CITE THROUGHOUT THIS SECTION, ONLY TEXTBOOK MATERIAL ON THAT SPECIFIC REGULATION, AND MUST EXPLAIN THE SPECIFIC CITE.

3. Observation– Provide a descriptive observation of the center on the regulation you picked and if the center implementation or lack of implementation of the regulation. Be detailed in your description (I want to be able to see it in my mind when I read your paper). DO NOT BE SUBJECTIVE (your feelings or bias)

I am not referring to your time observing (e.g., I walked in the room at 9:30Am then they had opening activities).

This observation part is in detail about what you see about that regulation (e.g., drinking water- where are the fountains located, their height, do they have mates/stools, children freely able to get water, bring water bottles outside, extra).

How are parents specifically notified? Tell me detail on how. Also, describe how the school does their daily health checks daily in details (take temperature or hand to head, how do the teachers check for illness: look at eyes, hair, nose, do they sing a song?)

State where items were located specifically and be descriptive of items such as mat, blanket, extra (color, texture, size).

ONLY VVC LAB SCHOOL I provided pictures and videos .

NOT ANY OTHER SCHOOL OR OTHER VIDEOS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

VVC Lab School Videos provided (3 Videos for Health), the VVC Lab pictures posted, and the VVC Handbook- MUST USE VVC HANDBOOK and cite in APA

There is a helpful powerpoint to help with observation section .

Isolation areas (VVC 2 areas- the classroom and Director’s office)-

Health related- the forms in the video and above and the handbook (medication policy, accident policy, illness policy) will help here and the forms (allergy, ouchie report form and illness form).

VVC incident and illness record forms attached

VVC pictures in a powerpoint attached

VVC Health Inspection Form is attached

Remember paint me a picture, quote, and describe it- no subjective material.

4. Analysis– compare and contrast Title 22 and textbook. Support or refute based on your observation. This section is worth alot of points.

This area may seem redundant but you are inter grading all the information from the previous 3 components to make connections or showing differences (compare and contrast)

Need to cite the textbook and Title 22 here.

Need to restate specifics from observations to support that you feel the center is in compliance and provided why. Need to connect this to the textbook and Title 22.This section is worth alot of points (6 points per regulation)

PLEASE NOTE- MUST CITE TITLE 22 IN APA ON THAT SPECIFIC REGULATION MATERIAL, MUST CITE TEXTBOOK IN APA ON THE SPECIFIC MATERIAL, MUST COMPARE/CONTRAST TITLE 22 AND TEXTBOOK, AND MUST HAVE SPECIFIC VVC and CHC OBSERVATION MATERIAL ON THAT REGULATION.

Must be at least 1 page per regulation

5. Recommendations. Tell me if the center was in compliance of this regulation or needs to work on it. Need to tell me why you said this which would mean you need to briefly restate what you seen in the observation. If needs to work on something then provide a suggestion. If they are in compliance of this regulation then you need to state that and provide support from your observation.

THIS IS SUGGESTIONS FOR VVC LAB SCHOOL preschool ONLY- NOT IN GENERAL.

IF YOU FEEL VVC DID A GREAT JOB THEN NEED TO PROVIDE SPECIFIC DETAILS TO BACK YOUR CLAIM!

CAN HAVE OPINIONS IN THIS SECTION NOT IN THE ABOVE SECTIONS.

Must address VVC

6. Conclusion thoughts– tell me what you learned about each regulation specifically and the importance of this regulation- be specific not just general- this helps our health

MUST BE ON THE SPECIFIC REGULATION- NOT IN GENERAL HEALTH AND NEED AT LEAST IN-DEPTH PARAGRAPH.

CAN HAVE OPINIONS IN THIS SECTION- WHY THIS REGULATION IS IMPORTANT AND WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC REGULATION

Must have a paragraph per regulation

Need Reference Page:

Needs to be in alphabetical order- will also need VVC Handbook too

To cite Title 22 (remember you will need 2 individual regulations on your reference page- each regulation is separate).

California Code of Child Care Regulations, Title 22 C.C.R § 12: Article 6 Regulation 101226.1 (2017). Daily Inspection. Retrieved on March 14, 2018. From http://www.cdss.ca.gov/ord/PG587.ht. (Links to an external site.)

Do this for all the regulation but change the specific code # and title of regulation and possibly Article number
