State your definition of poverty prior to studying public health and focus of poverty alleviation solutions

Prior to studying public health, poverty to me was known as poor individuals living in rural communities who do not have access to resources such as food, healthcare, education, and additional programs that are needed to survive on a daily basis. Based on this definition, alleviating strategies for poverty should be broken into four categories which include community organizations based on micro-funding, capability and social security, market-based, and good governance (Singh & Chudasama, 2020). Funding helps empowers poor populations and help generate income, activities, and reduce weakness. In addition, these strategies help improve nutrition, education programs, and enhances economic growth through requirements of needed social services put in place to help the poor while forming guaranteed financial and social protection (Singh & Chudasama, 2020).

Based on the relational and spiritual definition of poverty, discuss how the focus of solutions would change to include a holistic approach and health program.

Everyone has their own distinct view on who are the poor, or what they look like? Some view the poor as having very little or no available resources when in fact those who seem to be poor have all they need and are very satisfied through what has been provided to them by god. Relational poverty is the lacking of a minimal amount of income to survive. Spiritual poverty indicates the lacking of connection of the abundance of goods around one to make them feel good about themselves. The Biblical view of poverty touches on spiritual and material poverty which are both very beneficial especially for those involved in compassionate advocacy (Ireland, 2017). Holistic approaches can include the creation of affordable population strategies, and collaborating with public and private partnerships across sectors including ministries of health, agriculture, food, nutrition, and housing programs. Moreover, ministries are important as they provide holistic health education approaches and teach individuals how to take control over their health to live productive lifestyles. Moreover, implementing Faith-Based community programs that concentrate on defeating poverty by engaging different groups and community organizations to help exacerbate problems due to socioeconomic challenges is a great way to start the healing process for those in need.
